Biography

BSCE 1969 - CCE

Bill Jabs earned a bachelor’s in civil engineering in 1969. In 2006, he retired as CEO and president of Portland's W&H Pacific, Inc., a leading firm in aviation, transportation, and specialized engineering projects throughout the West, including sites such as the Portland International Airport, the Mt. Bachelor Ski Area, and the ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ State Penitentiary in Salem. Jabs directed the development of a new technology called the compost storm-water filter, which was selected in 1992 as an Engineering Excellence Grand Award winner from the American Consulting Engineer's Council. He has been a strong advocate for the Civil Engineering Cooperative Program (CECOP) and served as chair of the CECOP board in 2000-2001. He has been a member of the OSU College of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Engineers since its inception in 1998.
